You can't handle the truth.

ABOUT THE PLAY
Honour. Truth.
The Trial of a Lifetime.
Summer, 1986. Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba. Private First Class William T. Santiago is found dead — his head shaved, a rag stuffed in his mouth. Two of his fellow Marines have been charged with his murder. They are held in Washington D.C., awaiting trial.
Aaron Sorkin's ground-breaking play — the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film that followed made it a cultural landmark — tells the story of a group of military lawyers assigned to defend the two Marines. In this explosive courtroom drama, they mount a valiant defence, and in doing so, put the military mentality and the Marine code of honour itself on trial.
Crackling dialogue, unforgettable characters, and one of the most iconic lines ever written for the stage: A Few Good Men is a masterclass in moral complexity, sharp wit, and searing honesty.
This is The Dragon Rose Project's first full-scale theatrical production — and the launch of Devika Shahani's company onto the Mumbai stage.

WHAT THE PLAY EXPLORES
Themes
Honour & Obedience
When soldiers are ordered to do the unspeakable, who bears the moral weight? The play relentlessly probes the line between following orders and choosing conscience — and what it costs to cross it.
Truth & Power
In a world built on hierarchy and secrecy, one man's pursuit of the truth puts everything at stake. Sorkin asks: what does it take to hold the powerful accountable — and who pays the price?
Courage Under Pressure
Lt. Daniel Kaffee begins as a man who avoids confrontation. What transforms him is not ambition but the weight of responsibility — the discovery that some fights must be taken, regardless of the cost.
ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT
THE SET
Aaron
Sorkin
Stark. Geometric.
Unforgiving.
One of the most celebrated writers in American theatre and film, Aaron Sorkin is renowned for his razor-sharp dialogue, morally complex characters, and his ability to make the mechanisms of institutions — law, politics, business — feel urgently, viscerally human.
His screenwriting credits include The Social Network (2010), Moneyball (2011), and the landmark television series The West Wing (1999–2006).
The set was conceived as an abstract world — stark diagonal geometry in shades of grey, black and steel, reflecting the cold, hard world of military hierarchies. Highly flexible to allow for quick scene changes, it uses clever movement and material to transport the audience across multiple locations: barracks, offices, courtroom, and Guantanamo Bay itself.
Set Design: Juhie Gupta (Interrobang Creative) & Dhruti Hamlai
Scenographer: Toral Shah
Legend has it that Sorkin wrote much of the story on cocktail napkins while tending bar one night — after his sister, a recent law school graduate serving at the Navy's JAG Corps, told him the case. He knew a good story when he heard one.
— A Few Good Men debuted on stage, November 1989
